Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will have a better understanding of shopping habits, including how to make informed purchasing decisions, the importance of budgeting, and the impact of marketing on consumer behavior.     The student will create a simple budget for a hypothetical shopping trip. They will list items they want to buy, their prices, and ensure they stay within a designated budget. This will help them understand the importance of budgeting in shopping.

  • Marketing Analysis:

    The student will choose a product they like and analyze its marketing. They will consider questions like: What techniques does the advertisement use? How does it make them feel? This will help them understand the influence of marketing on shopping habits.

  • Vocabulary Building:

    The student will create a list of shopping-related vocabulary words (e.g., impulse buying, consumer, sale, discount) and write definitions for each. This will enhance their understanding of the language used in shopping contexts.
