Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will have a deeper understanding of educational technology tools and their applications in modern learning environments. They will create a mini-project that showcases how these tools can enhance education, making learning more engaging and effective.

Materials and Prep

  • Access to a computer or tablet with internet connectivity
  • Note-taking materials (digital or physical)
  • Basic knowledge of common educational technology tools (e.g., Google Classroom, Kahoot, Zoom)
  • Familiarity with online collaboration platforms (e.g., Google Docs, Trello)

Activities

  • Research and Explore:

The student will spend time researching various educational technology tools. They can create a list of their top five tools, including a brief description of each and its educational benefits.

  • Interactive Presentation:

The student will select one of the tools they've researched and create a short interactive presentation. This could include a demo of the tool, how it works, and potential classroom applications.

  • Mini-Project Creation:

The student will design a mini-project using the chosen educational technology tool. This project should outline a lesson plan that incorporates the tool, detailing objectives, activities, and expected outcomes.

  • Peer Review Session:

After completing the mini-project, the student will present it to a family member or friend for feedback. This activity will help them practice their presentation skills and receive constructive criticism.
