Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will have a deeper understanding of emotions, including how to identify and express them. They will also learn how emotions can affect our behavior and relationships with others.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper
  • Colored pencils or crayons
  • A quiet space for reflection
  • Optional: A mirror (to practice facial expressions)

Before the lesson, think about different emotions and how they feel in your body. Be ready to share personal experiences related to emotions.

Activities

  • Emotion Drawing:

Draw different faces that represent various emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger, and surprise. Use colors that you think match each emotion. This will help you visualize how emotions can look.

  • Emotion Charades:

Act out different emotions without using words while the other person guesses which emotion you are portraying. This will help you understand how emotions can be expressed through body language.

  • Feelings Journal:

Write about a time you felt a strong emotion. Describe what happened, how you felt, and how you reacted. This will help you reflect on your emotions and understand them better.
