Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will have a better understanding of basic hair and beauty techniques, including how to create simple hairstyles and apply basic makeup. The student will also learn about the importance of hair and skin care, and how to express their creativity through beauty practices.

Materials and Prep

  • Hairbrush or comb
  • Hair ties and bobby pins
  • Mirror
  • Basic makeup items (if available): lip balm, blush, and eyeshadow
  • Notebook and pen for taking notes

Before the lesson, make sure to have a clean and well-lit space for practicing hairstyles and makeup. You may want to watch some tutorial videos online to get inspired!

Activities

  • Hairstyle Exploration:

    The student will practice creating two different hairstyles, such as a simple braid and a ponytail. Encourage them to experiment with different ways to secure the styles using hair ties and bobby pins.

  • Makeup Basics:

    Using the available makeup items, the student will learn how to apply a light layer of makeup. Focus on applying lip balm for hydration, a bit of blush for color, and a touch of eyeshadow to enhance their eyes.

  • Beauty Journal:

    The student will create a beauty journal where they can jot down their favorite hairstyles, makeup tips, and any new techniques they learn. This will help them track their progress and keep their ideas organized.
