Objective

Materials and Prep

Before the lesson, familiarize yourself with the map of Australia and the route from NSW to Perth. Think of interesting facts about the places they will "visit" along the way.

Activities

• Map Exploration: Draw a simple map of Australia and mark the route from NSW to Perth. The student can color in the states and cities they will pass through.

• Distance Counting: Create simple math problems using the distance between different cities. For example, "If we travel 50 kilometers today, how far do we have left?"
