By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to appreciate and understand the concept of Jesus through visual arts.
Materials and Prep
- Blank paper
- Colored pencils or crayons
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Introduction: Start by discussing with the student who Jesus is and why he is important to them. Allow the student to share their thoughts and feelings.
- Art Expression: Provide the student with the blank paper and art materials. Instruct them to draw a picture of Jesus based on their imagination or any prior knowledge they have. Encourage them to be creative and express their feelings through their artwork.
- Art Appreciation: Once the student has completed their artwork, have them explain their drawing to you. Ask questions like "What do you see in your drawing?" and "Why did you choose to include those elements?" This will help the student reflect on their artwork and deepen their understanding of Jesus.
- Reflection: Engage in a discussion with the student about how art can be a powerful tool to express emotions and ideas. Talk about how their artwork represents their personal connection with Jesus.
