BFDI Universe Expansion: Create Your Own Contestant and Challenge!

Materials Needed:

  • Paper
  • Pencils
  • Eraser
  • Colored pencils, markers, or crayons
  • Optional: A device with internet access to view BFDI episodes/characters for inspiration (with appropriate supervision if needed)

Lesson Activities:

Part 1: Warm-up - BFDI Brainstorm! (Approx. 10 minutes)

Let's dive into the world of Battle For Dream Island! Think about your favorite characters. What makes them so cool or funny? What kind of personalities do they have? Now, think about the challenges. Which ones are the most exciting or clever? What makes a challenge fair for everyone playing, but still tricky? We'll chat about these ideas to get our creative gears turning!

Part 2: Meet the Newbie! Character Creation (Approx. 30-40 minutes)

Time to unleash your imagination and design a brand-new contestant for BFDI!

Step 1: The Basics

  • Object Form: What everyday (or not-so-everyday) object is your character? Try to think of something unique that hasn't been seen much in BFDI!
  • Name Game: What's the perfect name for your object character?
  • Sketch It Out: Grab your drawing tools and bring your character to life on paper! How do they look? Do they have arms, legs, expressive eyes?

Step 2: Personality Plus!

  • Three Words: If you had to describe your character's personality in just three words, what would they be? (e.g., Sassy, Clumsy, Genius, Grumpy, Hyper, Chill)
  • Super Strengths: What is your character really good at? What special talents or abilities do they have that could help them in challenges?
  • Achilles' Heel (Weaknesses): Nobody's perfect! What are your character's weaknesses or flaws? What might make challenges harder for them?
  • Quirky Quirk: Does your character have any funny habits, strange fears, or unique ways of talking or moving?

Step 3: Friends or Foes?

  • Best Buds Potential: Looking at the existing BFDI cast, who do you think your character would become friends with? Why would they click?
  • Rivalry Brewing: Are there any BFDI characters your new contestant might not get along with, or even become rivals with? What would cause the clash?

Part 3: Challenge Time! Design a Debut (Approx. 30-40 minutes)

Every great contestant needs a memorable challenge! Let's design one that could be your character's big debut, or just a really fun new game for everyone on BFDI.

Step 1: The Main Goal

  • What's the ultimate objective? Are contestants trying to reach a finish line first? Build the tallest tower? Collect the most of a certain item? Solve a tricky puzzle? Be the last one standing?

Step 2: The Rulebook

  • What are the key rules everyone must follow? Keep them clear and simple enough to understand.
  • How does someone win? How might someone get eliminated (if it's an elimination challenge)?
  • What's the twist? What makes this challenge particularly tricky, exciting, or different from other BFDI challenges?

Step 3: Location, Location, Location!

  • Where does this awesome challenge take place? Is it in a familiar spot in Goiky, or a brand-new, imaginative location you've invented? Describe it, or even sketch a little map!

Step 4: How Would YOUR Character Do?

  • Think about the character you just designed. How would they tackle this challenge? Would their strengths give them an edge? Would their weaknesses cause them trouble? It's fun to imagine!

Part 4: Show and Tell! Present Your Creation (Approx. 10-15 minutes)

This is your moment to shine! Present your new BFDI character and the challenge you've designed.

  • Show off your drawing and explain your character's personality, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Describe your challenge: its goal, rules, and setting.
  • Tell us why you think your character and challenge would be fantastic additions to the Battle For Dream Island universe!

Bonus Creative Spark (Optional Extension):

If you're feeling extra creative and have more time:

  • Write a short story scene where your new character interacts with one of the classic BFDI characters (like Four, X, or any contestant).
  • Draw a mini-comic strip showing your character participating in the challenge you designed. What funny or exciting thing might happen?

Have a blast creating, and remember, the wackier and more imaginative, the better – just like BFDI!
