The Super Sharers' Adventure!
Welcome, Super Sharer! Today, we're going on an adventure to learn how to share things fairly. It's super important and super fun!
Materials You'll Need:
- 10 small, identical objects (like blocks, buttons, small animal toys, or even yummy crackers!)
- 2 small plates or shallow bowls (these will be for our 'sharers')
- Optional: Crayons or markers and a piece of paper
- Optional: A favorite teddy bear or doll to be one of the sharers
Let's Start Sharing! (Introduction - 5 minutes)
Imagine you have 10 super cool stickers, and your best friend comes to play. You want to be a Super Sharer! How can you give some to your friend so you both have the same number, and it feels fair? That's what we're going to explore!
Activity 1: The Great Object Share-Out (Main Activity - 15 minutes)
- Set the Scene: Place the two plates in front of you. One plate is for you, and the other is for your sharing buddy (this could be a teddy bear, a doll, or just an imaginary friend!).
- Count Your Treasures: Count out your 10 objects. Make sure you have exactly 10. You can count them aloud: "One, two, three... all the way to ten!"
- Time to Share: Now, let's share them one by one. Take one object and say, "One for me," and place it on your plate. Then take another object and say, "One for my buddy," and place it on their plate.
- Keep Going: Continue this – "One for me, one for my buddy" – until all 10 objects are on the plates.
- Check for Fairness: Now, let's count! How many objects are on your plate? Count them. How many objects are on your buddy's plate? Count them. Are the numbers the same? If they are, you've shared them fairly! High five! You both got 5 objects!
Activity 2: Sharing Stories & Challenges (Application & Creativity - 10 minutes)
- Story Time: Can you make up a short story about two friends sharing 10 of something? Maybe they are sharing 10 magical seeds or 10 shiny rocks. What happens in your story?
- What If...?:
- What if you only had 8 objects to share between two people? How many would each get? (You can try it out with your objects!)
- This is a tricky one! What if you had 3 objects to share between two people? Can you share them so each person gets the same whole number of objects? What could you do? (This is just for thinking – there's no single right answer for little ones, it could lead to discussions about one person getting more, or not being able to share them equally without cutting one).
- Draw Your Share: If you have crayons and paper, can you draw a picture of you and a friend sharing 10 balloons? Make sure to draw the balloons so you each have the same number! How many balloons does each person have in your picture?
Wrap-up: Super Sharer Celebration! (Conclusion - 5 minutes)
Wow, you did an amazing job today learning about sharing!
- What does it mean to share fairly? (Answer: Everyone gets the same amount).
- When we shared 10 objects between two people, how many did each person get? (Answer: 5).
Being a Super Sharer is a wonderful skill, making playtime more fun for everyone. Keep practicing sharing with your toys and treats (ask a grown-up first for treats!). You're a sharing superstar!
