Activities
- Reading Comprehension: Select a passage from an English literature book and have the student read it carefully. Ask them to write a brief summary of the passage, highlighting the main ideas and key details.
- Character Analysis: Choose a character from a literary work and ask the student to analyze their traits, motivations, and actions. Have them write a character analysis essay, providing evidence from the text to support their claims.
- Writing Style Exploration: Introduce the student to different writing styles used in English literature, such as descriptive, narrative, persuasive, or poetic. Ask them to select a writing style and write a short story or poem using that particular style.
- Literary Analysis: Provide the student with a poem or a short story and ask them to analyze its deeper meaning and symbolism. Encourage them to write an analytical essay, exploring the author's intentions and the impact of literary devices used.
