Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand basic arithmetic concepts using Magnitiles.

Materials and Prep

• Magnitiles set
• Clear space to work

Activities

1. Counting with Magnitiles:

   Start by counting the number of Magnitiles in your set. Use your fingers to touch and count each tile. Say the number out loud as you count.

2. Addition with Magnitiles:

   Take two Magnitiles and place them side by side. Count the total number of tiles. For example, if you have 2 tiles on the left and 3 tiles on the right, count them together to get 5 tiles in total. Practice this with different combinations of tiles.

3. Subtraction with Magnitiles:

   Start with a group of Magnitiles. Remove a few tiles and count how many are left. For example, if you have 5 tiles and you remove 2, count the remaining 3 tiles. Practice this with different numbers of tiles.
