Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to analyze and discuss characters, setting, and plot elements of the book "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone".
Materials and Prep
- Copy of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"
- Paper and pencil
Activities

Read aloud a chapter from "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". Encourage the student to follow along in their own copy of the book.

After reading, ask the student to choose their favorite character from the chapter and draw a picture of them. Encourage them to include details from the text.

Discuss the student's drawing and ask them to describe the character's traits and personality based on what they read. Write down their observations on a separate piece of paper.

Ask the student to identify the setting of the chapter and draw a picture of it. Discuss the characteristics of the setting and write them down as well.

Finally, discuss the main events of the chapter and ask the student to summarize the plot elements in their own words. Write down their summary.
