  • Pencil

No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Brainstorming:

Start by asking the student to think about Barbie and what she looks like, what she does, and where she lives. Encourage them to use their imagination and come up with as many ideas as possible. Write down their responses on a piece of paper.

  2. Descriptive Words:

Next, guide the student to choose three descriptive words from the brainstorming list that they think best describe Barbie. Help them understand what each word means if needed. Write down the chosen words on the paper.

  3. Writing a Short Story:

Using the three descriptive words, ask the student to write a short story about Barbie. Encourage them to include details and use complete sentences. Remind them to use capital letters at the beginning of each sentence and punctuation marks at the end.

  4. Sharing and Feedback:

Once the student has finished writing their story, have them read it aloud or share it with someone else. Provide positive feedback and ask them questions about their story to encourage further discussion.
