No prior knowledge of grammar is required for this lesson.
Activities
-
Start by playing Minecraft and exploring the virtual world. Take note of interesting places, objects, or characters you encounter.
-
Once you have finished exploring, write down five sentences describing your Minecraft experience. Make sure to include different parts of speech such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.
-
Review your sentences and identify the different parts of speech used. Underline the nouns, circle the verbs, highlight the adjectives, and underline the adverbs.
-
Share your sentences with someone else and see if they can identify the parts of speech you highlighted. Discuss any differences or similarities in your sentences.
-
Using your sentences as inspiration, create a short story or paragraph about your Minecraft adventure. Try to incorporate as many different parts of speech as possible.
