Embracing Change
A Mindful Reflection & Journaling Experience
- A quiet, comfortable space where you won't be interrupted
- This printed journal guide or your favorite notebook/pen
- An open mind and 15–20 minutes to focus on your thoughts
The Comfort Zone
The mental space where things feel safe, highly predictable, and free from immediate risk. While peaceful, it rarely offers room to discover new strengths.
Loss Aversion
The human tendency to focus more on what we might lose during a change rather than what we might gain. Recognizing this bias helps us overcome it.
Begin with a Breath
Reflect on Past Changes

Now, shift your focus to the positive outcomes that resulted from that change. What new opportunities, relationships, or personal growth came from this experience? Write about how the change ultimately benefited you.
Embrace Future Changes
Consider a change you are currently facing or anticipate in the near future. Reflect on how you can approach this change with a positive outlook and an open mind. What potential positives could come from this, and how can you prepare mentally?
Gratitude for Change
End your journaling by writing down three distinct things you are grateful for that have come from changes in your life. Reflect on how being open to change has enriched your perspective.
