Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a science book or articles available for reading. Prepare paper and pencils for writing and drawing activities. If you have art supplies, have them ready as well. If you have internet access, you can use it for additional research if desired.
Activities
- Reading Comprehension: Read a chapter or article from the science book or articles related to a specific scientific topic. Take notes about the main ideas and important details while reading.
- Illustration: Choose one interesting fact or concept from the reading and create an illustration to represent it. Use your art supplies to make your illustration colorful and detailed.
- Writing Reflection: Write a short paragraph explaining the concept you illustrated and why you found it interesting. Use complete sentences and descriptive language to express your thoughts.
- Discussion: Share your illustration and written reflection with a family member or friend. Discuss the science topic, your thoughts, and what you learned from the reading.
