By the end of this lesson, you will be able to write a creative story inspired by a Guinness World Record.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Pencil or pen
- Access to the Guinness World Records website or a Guinness World Records book
Activities
- Begin by exploring the Guinness World Records website or book to find a record that interests you. Take note of the record title, description, and any interesting facts.
- Once you have chosen a record, brainstorm ideas for a creative story inspired by that record. Think about the characters, setting, and plot.
- Write a rough draft of your story. Focus on incorporating elements from the record you chose, such as the characters attempting to break the record or the record itself playing a central role in the plot.
- Revise and edit your rough draft to improve the clarity and flow of your story. Make sure to check for correct grammar and punctuation.
- Finalize your story by writing a neat and legible copy. You can add illustrations or decorations if you like.
