Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to create a cow-themed artwork using practical arts techniques.

Materials and Prep

  • Construction paper (various colors)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers or crayons
  • Pencil
  • Cow reference images (optional)

Before starting the lesson, familiarize yourself with the different parts of a cow, such as the head, body, legs, and tail.

Activities

  1. Draw and cut out the basic shape of a cow's body from a piece of construction paper.
  2. Using another color of construction paper, cut out shapes for the cow's head, legs, and tail.
  3. Glue the head, legs, and tail onto the body to complete the cow's outline.
  4. Decorate the cow using markers or crayons. Add spots, eyes, a nose, and any other details.
  5. Optional: Use reference images to add more realistic features to the cow, such as ears, horns, and a mouth.
