Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand the basics of chemistry related to lollies.

Materials and Prep

• Lollies (different colors and flavors)
• A small bowl of water
• A plate or tray
• A magnifying glass (optional)

Make sure you have a clean and safe workspace to conduct the experiments.

Activities

1. Observing Lollies: Start by examining different lollies. Look at their colors, shapes, and sizes. Use the magnifying glass to observe any interesting details.
2. Dissolving Lollies: Place a lolly on the plate or tray and pour a small amount of water over it. Observe what happens to the lolly as it comes into contact with water. Does it dissolve? Does it change color?
3. Color Mixing: Take two different colored lollies and place them in the bowl of water. Observe what happens when the colors mix together. Do they create a new color?
4. Flavor Testing: Take a small bite of different flavored lollies and describe the taste. Do they taste the same or different? Can you identify the flavors?
