Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to write a creative story using Minecraft as inspiration.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Pencil
- Computer or tablet with Minecraft game
- Access to Minecraft building blocks
Activities
-
Start by playing Minecraft for a short while. Explore the virtual world, observe the surroundings, and take note of interesting elements.
-
After playing, sit down with your paper and pencil. Think about a story you would like to write that involves Minecraft. It could be an adventure, a mystery, or anything else you can imagine.
-
Begin writing your story. Start with an introduction that sets the scene and introduces the main characters. Then, describe the problem or conflict that needs to be solved.
-
In the next part of your story, describe the actions and adventures your characters go through to solve the problem. Use descriptive language and include details about the Minecraft world.
-
Finally, write a conclusion where the problem is resolved and the characters learn something from their experiences. End your story with a satisfying ending.
-
Once you have finished writing, read your story out loud to yourself or to a family member. Make any necessary revisions or edits.
-
If you would like, you can also create illustrations to go along with your story. Use the Minecraft building blocks to create scenes from your story.
