Prior to the lesson, make sure you have a good understanding of the elements of a story, such as characters, setting, and plot.

Brainstorming Craft Characters:
Use the construction paper, scissors, and markers to create unique characters for your story. Think about their appearance, personality, and any special traits they may have. Cut out the characters and set them aside.

Crafting a Setting:
Now, use the construction paper, scissors, and markers to create a setting for your story. It could be a forest, a castle, or even a spaceship! Be as creative as you can. Cut out the setting and set it aside.

Planning the Plot:
Take a blank piece of paper and use your pencil to outline the main events of your story. Think about what your characters will do and how the setting will play a role in the plot. Don't worry about writing complete sentences, just jot down your ideas in bullet points.

Writing the Story:
Using the characters, setting, and plot you have created, start writing your story on a new piece of paper. Remember to include a beginning, middle, and end. Use your imagination and have fun!

Decorating and Illustrating:
Once you have finished writing your story, go back and add illustrations and decorations to make it visually appealing. Use the craft materials to bring your story to life!
