Objective

Materials and Prep

  • A book about horses
  • Paper and pencils

Activities

  1. Start by reading the book about horses together. Take turns reading pages aloud and discuss any new words or concepts.
  2. After reading, ask the student to draw a picture of their favorite horse from the book. Encourage them to include details they remember from the story.
  3. Next, ask the student to write a sentence or two describing their favorite horse. Help them with spelling and encourage them to use descriptive words.
  4. Have a mini horse show! Ask the student to pretend to be a horse and demonstrate different movements such as walking, trotting, and galloping. Discuss the differences between these movements.
