Objective

Activities

  1. Brainstorm Viking-related words together. Write down as many words as you can think of on your paper. Examples include:

    • Longship
    • Helmet
    • Shield
    • Axe
    • Warrior
    • Exploration
    • Settlement
    • Mythology
  2. Choose five words from your list and create flashcards for each word. On one side, write the word, and on the other side, write the definition or a simple sentence using the word.

  3. Review the flashcards and practice spelling each word aloud. Use them in sentences to reinforce their meanings.

  4. Play a spelling game. Take turns with a partner to choose a flashcard and spell the word out loud. If you spell it correctly, you earn a point. The person with the most points at the end wins!
