Materials and Prep

  • Toy cars

No additional preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  • Activity 1: Addition Race
  • Place two toy cars at the starting line. Roll a dice and add the numbers shown on the dice. Move the cars forward according to the sum. The first car to reach the finish line wins!

  • Activity 2: Subtraction Challenge
  • Set up a racetrack with obstacles. Place a toy car at the starting point. Roll a dice and subtract the number shown on the dice from the starting point. Move the car backward according to the difference. Try to navigate the obstacles and reach the finish line.

  • Activity 3: Counting Cars
  • Line up a group of toy cars. Count the cars and write down the number. Remove some cars and count how many are left. Practice subtraction by finding the difference between the original number and the remaining cars.
