Before starting the lesson, familiarize yourself with the history and key facts about the Hoover Dam.
Activities
- Show the student photos or illustrations of the Hoover Dam and discuss what they see. Ask open-ended questions such as "What do you notice about the dam?" and "Why do you think it is important?"
- Draw a simple outline of the Hoover Dam on the whiteboard or large paper. Invite the student to color it in and add any details they remember from the tour.
