Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and use correct English grammar rules while learning interesting facts about sharks.

Materials and Prep

Activities

  1. Research and Writing: Use the internet or books to gather information about sharks. Write a short paragraph describing your favorite shark species, making sure to use proper grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.

  2. Grammar Hunt: Read an article or watch a video about sharks. Identify at least five different types of sentences used in the text (declarative, interrogative, imperative, exclamatory). Write down examples of each type and explain their purpose.

  3. Comparative and Superlative Sharks: Choose three different shark species and write a comparative and superlative sentence for each. For example: "The great white shark is larger than the bull shark, but the whale shark is the largest of them all."

  4. Shark Dialogue: Imagine a conversation between two sharks. Write a dialogue using correct punctuation and formatting for dialogue tags. Be creative and use your knowledge of sharks to make the conversation interesting.
