  • Coloring materials
  • Pictures or toy cars

No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Start by discussing with your child what they know about cars. Ask questions such as:

    • What are some different types of cars?
    • What do cars do?
    • Have you ever been in a car?
  2. Introduce a simple sentence about cars, such as "Cars can drive fast."

    • Write the sentence on a piece of paper and have your child read it aloud.
    • Encourage your child to trace the words and color the sentence.
  3. Show your child pictures or toy cars and ask them to describe what they see using the sentence they just read.

    • For example, if they see a picture of a race car, they can say, "This car can drive fast."
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 with additional simple sentences about cars, such as:

    • "Cars have wheels."
    • "Cars can take us places."
