Activities
- Warm-up: Start by asking the student if they have heard of or read any "In the Night Garden" books before. Allow them to share their thoughts and experiences.
- Introduce the book: Show the student the "In the Night Garden" book and read the title together. Discuss the cover illustration and ask the student to predict what the story might be about.
- Read aloud: Read the book aloud to the student, encouraging them to follow along with their finger. Pause occasionally to ask comprehension questions or discuss interesting parts of the story.
- Retell the story: After reading the book, ask the student to retell the story in their own words. Encourage them to include important details and the main events of the plot.
- Writing activity: Have the student write a short paragraph or draw a picture to summarize their favorite part of the story. Assist them as needed and provide positive feedback on their effort.
