By the end of this lesson, you will be able to write a descriptive paragraph about the Gateway Arch.
Materials and Prep

- Internet access or books about the Gateway Arch
Before starting the lesson, make sure you have some information about the Gateway Arch ready to share with your student.
Activities

Introduce the Gateway Arch to your student. Show pictures or read a short description of the landmark.

Ask your student to imagine they are visiting the Gateway Arch. Have them close their eyes and think about what they would see, hear, and feel while being there.

Next, ask your student to draw a picture of the Gateway Arch based on their imagination and what they learned about it.

After the drawing is complete, encourage your student to write a descriptive paragraph about the Gateway Arch using their imagination and the information they have gathered.

Review the paragraph together, discussing what they wrote and providing positive feedback.

Optional: Have your student practice reading their paragraph aloud to improve their speaking skills.
