Activities

  1. Record and analyze your chess game results:

    • Play at least 5 chess games against opponents of varying skill levels.
    • Record the outcome of each game (win, lose, or draw).
    • Create a tally chart to keep track of the results.
    • Convert the tally chart into a bar graph to visualize the data.
  2. Calculate your win percentage:

    • Add up the number of wins and divide it by the total number of games played.
    • Multiply the result by 100 to get your win percentage.
  3. Analyze the win percentage:

    • Compare your win percentage to the average win percentage of chess players at your grade level.
    • Discuss possible reasons for differences in win percentages.
    • Identify areas of improvement to increase your win percentage.
  4. Plan and implement strategies:

    • Based on your analysis, come up with strategies to improve your chess performance.
    • Implement these strategies in future games and record the results.
    • Analyze the impact of the strategies on your win percentage.
