Materials and Prep
- Bucket or bag for collecting leaves

- Leaf identification guide (optional)
- Outdoor space with trees or plants
Activities
- Go outside to an area with trees or plants.
- Start collecting leaves.
- Examine the leaves.
- Identify the leaves.
Explain to the student that they will be going on a leaf gathering adventure.
Show the student how to carefully pick up leaves and place them in the bucket or bag.
Encourage the student to use the magnifying glass to observe the details of the leaves, such as their shape, color, and texture.
If you have a leaf identification guide, use it to help the student identify the different types of leaves they collected. If not, encourage the student to describe the leaves and discuss similarities and differences between them.
