Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to write a movie review on the Titanic movie, identify the main characters, rate the movie out of 10, state the year the movie was made, create a drawing of the necklace Rose had using oil pastels or colored pencils, determine if there was room for Jack on the board in the water, express their likes and dislikes about the movie, and provide a brief description of the characters Rose and Jack.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper
  • Pencils
  • Oil pastels or colored pencils
  • Glitter pens (optional)
  • Access to the Titanic movie

Activities

  1. Watch the Titanic movie.
  2. Identify the main characters in the movie.
  3. Rate the movie out of 10 and provide a brief explanation of the rating.
  4. Research and state the year the movie was made.
  5. Create a drawing of the necklace Rose had using oil pastels or colored pencils.
  6. If using colored pencils, highlight the drawing with glitter pens.
  7. Discuss whether there was room for Jack on the board in the water.
  8. Write a brief paragraph about what you liked about the movie and what you didn't like.
  9. Provide a short description of the characters Rose and Jack.
