Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to analyze and interpret a text related to computers, and articulate their understanding through discussion and written responses.

Materials and Prep

  • A computer with internet access
  • A reading passage or article related to computers (can be found online)
  • Paper and pen/pencil

Activities

  1. Read the selected passage or article about computers.

    Take notes while reading to identify key ideas, important details, and any unfamiliar vocabulary.

  2. After reading, write a brief summary of the main points of the text.

    Include any questions or thoughts that arise from the reading.

  3. Engage in a discussion about the reading with a parent or guardian.

    Share your summary and discuss your thoughts and questions.

    Listen to their perspective and ask for clarification or additional insights.

  4. Write a response to the reading, addressing the following:

    • What did you find most interesting or surprising?
    • How does the information in the reading relate to your own experiences with computers?
    • What questions do you still have about the topic?
