Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to demonstrate knowledge of sea turtles and their geographical habitats.

Materials and Prep

  • Computer or tablet with internet access
  • Pen or pencil
  • Blank paper or notebook
  • Printouts of sea turtle images (optional)

Activities

  1. Research: Have the student use the computer or tablet to research different species of sea turtles and their geographical habitats. They can take notes on their findings.
  2. Map Activity: Ask the student to draw a map of the world and locate the major oceans and seas. Then, using their research, have them mark the areas where different species of sea turtles can be found.
  3. Writing Exercise: Have the student write a short paragraph describing the characteristics of their favorite sea turtle species and its habitat. Encourage them to include interesting facts they learned during their research.
  4. Art Project: If desired, the student can create a visual representation of a sea turtle using their preferred art medium. They can refer to printouts of sea turtle images for inspiration.
