  3. Explain the Chumash way of life, including their hunting and gathering practices, their homes (known as 'ap' or 'apuk'), and their use of canoes.
  4. Engage the student in a creative activity where they can make their own miniature Chumash canoe using paper and other materials.
  5. Encourage the student to ask questions and facilitate a discussion about the Chumash culture and how it compares to their own lives.
