Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to demonstrate basic skills and knowledge related to golf, including understanding the rules, practicing swings, and aiming for accuracy.
Materials and Prep
- Golf clubs (putter, iron, and driver)
- Golf balls
- Golf tees
- An open outdoor space or a large indoor area
Before starting the lesson, make sure you have enough space to swing the golf clubs safely. If you are indoors, ensure that there are no fragile objects nearby that could be accidentally hit.
Activities
- Warm-up: Begin with a light jog or jumping jacks for 5 minutes to get your body warmed up and ready for physical activity.
- Golf Stance and Grip: Learn and practice the proper golf stance and grip. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and grip the club with both hands, keeping your palms facing each other.
- Swing Practice: Practice your golf swing without hitting the ball. Focus on maintaining a smooth and controlled swing, keeping your eye on an imaginary target.
- Putting Practice: Set up a small target (such as a cup or a designated spot) a few feet away. Use your putter to aim and putt the ball towards the target. Repeat multiple times, trying to improve your accuracy.
- Driving Practice: Move to a larger open area. Use your driver club to practice hitting the ball for distance. Focus on swinging smoothly and making solid contact with the ball.
- Mini Golf Challenge: Create a mini golf course using household objects. Use your creativity to design obstacles and challenges. Play the course and keep track of your score. Have fun!
