Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to practice reading skills while exploring the world of Minecraft.

Materials and Prep

• A computer or tablet with Minecraft installed
• Pen and paper

Prior knowledge of basic navigation and controls in Minecraft is helpful but not required.

Activities

1. Read Minecraft signs:

   Explore your Minecraft world and look for signs placed by other players or in villages. Practice reading the words on the signs out loud. You can also create your own signs with simple messages for others to read.

2. Write a Minecraft story:

   Using pen and paper, write a short story inspired by your Minecraft adventures. Include characters, a setting, and a simple plot. Try to use descriptive words to make your story more interesting.

3. Read Minecraft books:

   Visit the Minecraft library or bookstore in-game and read some of the available books. Pay attention to the words and sentences used in the stories. Discuss the main ideas and characters with a parent or caregiver.
