Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to apply arithmetic concepts to solve problems related to The Walking Dead.
Materials and Prep
- Paper and pencil
- The Walking Dead episodes or clips
- Calculator (optional)
No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.
Activities
-
Watch an episode or clip from The Walking Dead.
While watching, keep track of the number of walkers (zombies) that appear in each scene.
-
After watching, create a table to record the number of walkers in each scene.
Add up the total number of walkers in the episode or clip.
-
Using the total number of walkers, calculate the average number of walkers per scene.
If you have a calculator, divide the total number of walkers by the number of scenes.
If you don't have a calculator, use long division to find the average.
-
Now, imagine a new episode of The Walking Dead where there are 10 scenes.
Based on your calculated average, estimate the total number of walkers in this new episode.
