Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to choose a historic person from the Revolutionary War, conduct research, create a poster, dress up as the chosen person, and present a wax museum to their parents.

Materials and Prep

  • Books or online resources about the Revolutionary War
  • Poster board or construction paper
  • Art supplies (markers, colored pencils, etc.)
  • Costumes or props for the wax museum
  • Space for the wax museum presentation

Activities

  1. Introduce the Revolutionary War and its significance in American history.
  2. Discuss the importance of research and choosing a historic person from the Revolutionary War.
  3. Allow the student to select a person they find interesting and guide them in conducting research on that individual.
  4. Assist the student in creating a poster that includes important information about their chosen person, such as their role in the war and significant contributions.
  5. Encourage the student to dress up as their chosen person and organize a wax museum presentation for their parents.
