Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to read and understand a short story about cars.

Materials and Prep

  • A book or a printed short story about cars
  • Writing materials (pencil, crayons)
  • A quiet space to read

Activities

  1. Introduction: Start by discussing with the student their interest in cars. Ask them questions about their favorite cars and what they like about them.
  2. Reading: Read the short story about cars together. Encourage the student to follow along and point out any interesting words or phrases.
  3. Comprehension: After reading the story, ask the student questions to check their understanding. For example, "What was the main character's favorite car?" or "What happened at the end of the story?"
  4. Illustration: Have the student draw a picture of their favorite car from the story. Encourage them to be creative and use colors.
  5. Writing: Ask the student to write a sentence or two about their favorite car. Help them with spelling and encourage them to use descriptive words.
