No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Start by discussing with the student what they already know about US presidents. Encourage them to share any names or facts they may have heard before.
- Introduce the student to a list of US presidents, either by showing them pictures or reading out their names. Ask the student to choose one president they find interesting.
- Have the student research their chosen president using books or online resources. They can find information about their president's early life, accomplishments, or interesting facts.
- Ask the student to create a simple timeline of their chosen president's life. They can draw pictures or write short sentences to represent important events.
- Encourage the student to share their findings with you or other family members. They can present their timeline and share interesting facts about their chosen president.
- Finish the activity by discussing with the student what they have learned and asking if they have any new questions about US presidents.
