Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to explore the concept of Reiki through reading and engage in language arts activities related to the topic.

Materials and Prep

  • Reiki-themed books or stories
  • Writing materials (paper, pencils, crayons)

Activities

  1. Begin by reading a Reiki-themed book or story together. Encourage the student to actively listen and ask questions about the content.

  2. After reading, ask the student to draw a picture of their favorite part of the story. Prompt them to use colors and details to make their drawing come alive.

  3. Next, ask the student to write a short sentence or two describing their drawing. Help them with spelling and encourage them to use descriptive words.

  4. Have the student share their drawing and description with you. Ask them to explain why they chose that particular part of the story.

  5. As a follow-up activity, ask the student to create their own mini-story about Reiki. They can use their drawing as inspiration and write a few sentences or draw additional pictures to go along with it.

  6. Finally, have a discussion with the student about their understanding of Reiki. Ask them what they learned from the book and their own mini-story. Encourage them to express their thoughts and feelings about the concept.
