  2. Spooky Silhouette Art:

    • Draw and cut out Halloween-themed shapes (e.g., bats, pumpkins, ghosts) from the black construction paper.
    • Glue the shapes onto a separate piece of paper.
    • Using markers, decorate the shapes with different colors.
    • Discuss how the colors can be used to represent different elements and compounds.

Transitional-Kindergarten Grade Talking Points

  • "Today, we are going to learn about Chemistry, which is a type of science that deals with different substances and how they can change."
  • "We will start by doing a fun experiment called the Monster Potion. We will mix baking soda and vinegar together and see what happens. Can you guess what might happen when we mix them?"
  • "Wow, look at that fizzing and bubbling! The baking soda and vinegar react with each other and create a gas called carbon dioxide. It's like a monster potion!"
  • "Now, let's move on to our spooky silhouette art activity. We will be using black paper and markers to create Halloween shapes. What shapes do you want to create?"
  • "Great job! Now, let's glue the shapes onto another piece of paper and use different colors to decorate them. Colors can represent different elements and compounds in Chemistry."
  • "I hope you had fun learning about Chemistry and Halloween today! Remember, there is science in everything, even during Halloween!"
