Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to explore Science concepts through engaging Language Arts: Reading activities.

Materials and Prep

  • Science-themed storybooks
  • Writing materials (pencils, crayons, markers, etc.)
  • Construction paper or blank paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape or glue

Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a selection of Science-themed storybooks and the necessary writing and craft materials ready.

Activities

  1. Read a Science-themed storybook together. Encourage your child to listen carefully and ask questions about the story.

  2. After reading, ask your child to draw their favorite part of the story on a piece of paper. Assist them in writing a sentence or a few words to describe their drawing.

  3. Help your child cut out their drawing and sentence, then attach it to a larger piece of construction paper to create a mini book.

  4. Repeat steps 1-3 with another Science-themed storybook, focusing on a different concept or topic.

  5. Encourage your child to share their mini books with family members or friends, explaining what they learned from the stories.
