Activities

  1. Introduction to Archery:

Start by discussing archery with the student. Talk about the equipment used, such as the bow and arrow, and the different types of archery, such as target shooting or hunting. Show pictures or videos of archery to help visualize.

  2. Descriptive Word Bank:

Brainstorm a list of descriptive words related to archery. Write down the words on a piece of paper or on the whiteboard. Encourage the student to contribute their own ideas and explain what each word means.

  3. Writing Descriptive Paragraph:

Using the descriptive word bank, ask the student to write a paragraph describing archery. Guide them in using the words in their writing and encourage them to create vivid images in the reader's mind. Remind them to use proper sentence structure and punctuation.

  4. Sharing and Editing:

Have the student read their paragraph aloud and ask for feedback. Discuss ways to improve the writing, such as adding more details or using stronger vocabulary. Help them make revisions and edits to their work.

  5. Final Draft:

Once the student is satisfied with their paragraph, ask them to write a final draft. Encourage them to use their neatest handwriting and make sure all sentences are clear and complete.
