No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Start by introducing different types of trucks to the student. Show them toy trucks or pictures of trucks and discuss their features.
- Ask the student to name the trucks they see and describe their functions. Encourage them to use complete sentences. For example, "This is a dump truck. It carries and unloads dirt."
- Provide the student with construction paper, markers or crayons, and scissors. Ask them to create a personalized truck by cutting out shapes from the construction paper and decorating it.
- While the student is working on their truck, engage them in conversation about what they are doing. Use simple grammar concepts such as naming colors, shapes, and sizes of the paper pieces they are using.
- Once the student has completed their truck, have them present it to you and explain its features using complete sentences. Encourage them to use descriptive words and correct grammar.
