Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to improve reading comprehension skills by analyzing and summarizing a Minecraft story.
Materials and Prep
- A computer or tablet with Minecraft installed
- A Minecraft story or narrative (can be found online or created by the student)
- Pen and paper for taking notes
Activities
- Read a Minecraft story: Start by reading a Minecraft story or narrative of your choice. You can find one online or create your own. Take your time to understand the characters, setting, and plot of the story.
- Identify key elements: After reading the story, make a list of the key elements such as the main characters, the main problem or conflict, and the setting. Write these down on your paper.
- Summarize the story: Write a short summary of the story using the key elements you identified. Make sure to include the beginning, middle, and end of the story in your summary.
- Create a Minecraft scene: Use your creativity to recreate a scene from the story in Minecraft. Build the setting and include the main characters. Take a screenshot or picture of your Minecraft scene.
- Present your work: Share your summary of the story and your Minecraft scene with a family member or friend. Explain why you chose that particular scene and how it relates to the story.
