Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to read and comprehend a short Lego-themed story, identify key details, and answer questions about the text.

Materials and Prep

  • Lego-themed storybook
  • Paper and pencil

Activities

  1. Introduce the Lego-themed storybook to the student. Show them the cover and ask them to predict what the story might be about based on the illustrations.
  2. Read the story aloud to the student, pausing occasionally to discuss the plot, characters, and any new vocabulary words.
  3. After reading, ask the student to retell the main events of the story in their own words. Encourage them to use complete sentences and include important details.
  4. Provide the student with a set of questions related to the story. Have them read each question and write or draw their answers on paper. Review their responses together and discuss any incorrect or unclear answers.
  5. To further engage the student, ask them to create their own Lego scene or character from the story using their Lego bricks. Encourage them to use their imagination and be creative.
  6. Allow the student to share their Lego creation and explain how it relates to the story. Encourage them to use descriptive language and provide reasoning for their choices.
