By the end of this lesson, the first-grade student will have a better understanding of self-confidence and learn strategies to boost their own self-confidence.
Materials and Prep

- Markers or colored pencils
- Index cards

- Tape or glue

Activities

Self-Confidence Collage:
Ask the student to think about things that make them feel confident. Provide them with magazines or printed images and have them cut out pictures that represent those things. Then, using the index cards, ask them to write positive affirmations or statements about themselves. Finally, have them create a collage by gluing or taping the pictures and index cards onto the whiteboard or large paper.

Confidence Building Reflection:
Have the student sit in a quiet space and reflect on a recent achievement or something they are proud of. Ask them to write or draw about it on an index card. Then, have them share their reflection with you or a family member, discussing why it made them feel confident.
