Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to describe your bedroom in Spanish and have a basic conversation about it.

Materials and Prep

  • Pen and paper
  • Spanish-English dictionary (optional)

No prior knowledge of Spanish is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Start by brainstorming vocabulary related to the bedroom in English. Write down as many words as you can think of in five minutes.

  2. Now, using your Spanish-English dictionary or online resources, try to find the Spanish equivalent for each English word you wrote down. Write the Spanish words next to the English words on your list.

  3. Practice pronunciation by saying each Spanish word out loud. Pay attention to the different sounds and accents in Spanish.

  4. Imagine you are giving a tour of your bedroom to a Spanish-speaking friend. Write a short paragraph describing your bedroom in Spanish. Include details about the furniture, colors, and any decorations.

  5. Once you have written your paragraph, practice reading it out loud. Focus on proper pronunciation and intonation.

  6. Find a partner, preferably someone who also studies Spanish, and take turns giving each other a virtual tour of your bedrooms in Spanish. Use your written paragraphs as a guide and try to have a conversation about your bedrooms.
