Activities
- Read the picture book about caterpillars together.
- Discuss the different stages of a caterpillar's life cycle, emphasizing the following points:
- A caterpillar starts as an egg.
- After hatching, it becomes a tiny caterpillar.
- The caterpillar grows and sheds its skin multiple times.
- Eventually, it forms a chrysalis or cocoon.
- Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar undergoes a transformation and turns into a butterfly.
- The butterfly emerges from the chrysalis and spreads its wings.
- Give the student a white paper and ask them to draw the different stages of a caterpillar's life cycle.
- Encourage the student to color their drawings and label each stage.
- Review and discuss the student's drawings, making sure they understand the sequence of the life cycle.
